Can you believe it, we are through the first 6 months of the year, and well into my favourite time of the year - Summer!!! The last 2 months really flew by with 1 big project completed, 1 work trip, 1 big pleasure trip and lots of activities in between. I missed the May recap so instead of doing my regular write up, I'm doing a pictorial wrap up of my activities.
I'm hitting the road for 2 weeks and I'm going to Africa - west Africa to be more precise. It's my first time heading to the continent and to say I'm excited would be a gross understatement of what I'm feeling. In addition to seeing my cousin, I'm really looking forward to seeing what culinary delights Ghana has to offer. I'll be blogging as much as I can so stay tuned.
Technically speaking Spring is here, but is it really? I still have my heat on and I'm just a WHOLE lot upset about that. I don't know about you but I'm ready to sweat. This month was a long one, literally and figuratively at Olive and Ruby. Lots of baking, some of which made it to the blog, and oops some of which didn't.
My niece and nephew have been getting more interested in preparing meals and the different flavour combinations that go together. This summer we're sending them to cooking camp so that they can learn some of the fundamentals. If they like it, this may be the start of the next generation of Olive and Ruby.
At the start of this year I had great plans to do a monthly recap of my foodie and non-foodie activities. I got the idea from my blogger friend Robyn, but this is the first month that I’ve actually got time to sit down and do it. So I'm going to do a quarterly round-up and get back to my monthly re-cap in April.
